What You Need:

  • Essential oils of your choice – you can choose any essential oils that you love and would like to use in a perfume to wear everyday. Some great essential oils to use in perfume are vanilla, ylang-ylang, rose, geranium, cinnamon, lavender, roman chamomile bergamot, grapefruit, lime, etc.
  • Alcohol – choose a pure grain alcohol such as an organic vodka
  • Spray perfume bottle – use a new empty one or reuse an old and cleaned out bottle

Directions:

  1. You will want to use a simple ratio when making your perfume. You want to use 70% alcohol and 30% essential oils.
  2. To start take ¼ cup of organic vodka and funnel it into your perfume bottle. You can then start by adding 5 drops of essential oils at a time until you create the scent and strength you are looking for in your perfume. If you are doing a combination of oils, do 5 drops of each in the bottle. For instance, if you choose to use cinnamon and vanilla essential oils, do 5 drops of vanilla and 5 drops of cinnamon.
  3. Test the fragrance by placing you top on the bottle and give it a good shake. Spray on your wrist or a piece of paper to test the smell and the strength of the fragrance.
  4. Essential oils are strong so it is always easy to add more, but impossible to take out. If the perfume is too weak. Add another 5 drops of essential oils and test the same way again.
  5. It will take some time to find the perfect ration and test the scent, but that is what makes making your own perfume at home fun!
  6. You natural and organic perfume will stay fresh for up to a few years, but you will love it so much, we are sure it won’t be sitting around that long.
