They mainly use mineral-based and plant-based ingredients to make their cosmetics and value full transparency into what they actually put into their products. They will never tell you what the product may contain…they simply tell you to want it does have. You will often come across makeup and skincare companies that have disclaimers under the ingredient list that states something along the lines of, “may contain iron oxides, mica, etc.”
Although it is good they are disclosing this information, it is not directly stating what actually is in the product, and most people would like to definitively know if that product does actually contain iron oxides or if it does not. You will never have to worry about this issue with Coastal Creations.
They also take cruelty-free products seriously as well. Coastal Creations is a certified member of the Coalition for Consumer Information Leaping Bunny Program and PETA. They are also a part of many other organizations as well. Taking things a step further is their sustainable and eco-friendly packaging and eco-friendly products.
They use as little product packaging as possible, never use GMO ingredients in their products, don’t use materials from land that has been deforested, use organic ingredients, and value biodegradable ingredients.
Coastal Creations also wants to include healthy, whole, and completely natural ingredients as well they benefit and nourish the skin. Some of their favorite ingredients to use include things such as honey, spices, waxes, clays, baking soda, organic and non-GMO cornstarch, essential oils and natural fragrance oils, organic floral waters, and healthy veggie oils like avocado oil!
We also love that Coastal Creations have trail-sized makeup available as well. This way, customers can try their makeup and find the perfect shades for their skin tone before committing to a whole container of makeup. They also have a “color assistance” feature on their website that allows you to find the perfect match for your skin. This is a unique and awesome feature since it is generally challenging to find your perfect match when buying makeup, like foundation, online.
There is a lot to love with Coastal Creations, but in this review, we will focus on their lipstick. Their lipsticks come in a ton of different colors and come in at a price point that is lower than many traditional and natural lipsticks and brands.
Coastal Creations lipstick is a matte and full-bodied lipstick that will give your lips the bold look you are looking for. We love their Conch color, which is a rich, vibrant, but slightly sublet winterberry color. It is a great color for the cooler winter and fall months when you are wearing deeper and richer colors.
The lipstick, including all of their other colors, is free of parabens and are all vegan as well. They contain vitamin E from sunflower oil that will not just keep your lip moisturized and hydrated, but also protect your precious lips from the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. We often neglect to protect our lips from the sun, but it is an important body part we need to protect from the sun’s harmful rays as well.
The texture of this lipstick is creamy and smooth, so it glides onto your lips effortlessly. It is also long-lasting, so you can wear this lipstick most of the day without worrying about having to reapply it every few hours. All of their colors are highly pigmented as well
Their lipstick formula also has sesame seed oil that has vitamins E, D, and B-complex that hydrates the lips, but also protects them from free radicals. There are only a few more simple ingredients as well – candelilla wax, carnauba wax, orange oil, lemongrass oil, and red iron oxides for color. All of their colorants follow the strict guidelines of the European Union Directive, which are much stricter and more limiting than the regulations provided within the United States.
